Kate Seredy

Author. A native of Budapest, Hungary, Seredy was a writer and illustrator of books for children. Her many works include, "The Selfish Giant And Other Stories" (1935), "The Good Master" (1935), and "The White Stag" (1937), which won the Newberry Medal in 1938. Other works are, "The Chestry Oak," "Adopted Jane," and "A Tree For Peter." (bio by: K) 
Cremated, Ashes scattered at sea.
