Isaac Baird was born April 25, 1825 in Lawrence County, Alabama and died Jan 01, 1887 in Talladega County, Alabama.
He was the son of Andrew Jackson Baird and Nancy Lettie Preatwood.

He served as a private in the U.S. Army during War with Mexico 1846.
He was a Captain in the Confederate States of America in the 10th Confederate Calvary, Anderson's Brigade, Kelly's Division, Wheeler's Corps., Army of Tennessee, Organized 27 December 1862 for the American Civil War.
He married Ann Simmons on Jan 15, 1851.
He was the First Elected Sheriff of Clay County, Alabama.
