Mrs. Roberta Harrison Bradford, a highly esteemed native of Gadsden county and a resident of this county for the greater part of her 84 years, died Saturday afternoon shortly after 4 o'clock at the home of Mrs. C. C. Guy on North Carolina street, where she had lived for the past several months. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Episcopal church, the Rev. E. M. Claytor, rector, officiating. Interment was in High Hill Plantation cemetery, 10 miles from Tallahassee.
Mrs. Bradford was born in Gadsden county and grew up here. She married Edward Bradford, Jr., of Tallahassee, and lived in that city for about three years, until the death of her husband. After this she was away from this section for some years, but returned about 35 years ago, remaining here until her death.
Mrs. Bradford was a devout member of the Episcopal church and was loved by a large circle of friends, many of whom were girlhood associates. Her health had been failing for a number of years, and about a year ago, she gave up housekeeping and since then had made her home with Mrs. C. C. Guy. She became very ill on Sunday, May 4. Mrs. Bradford was a woman of culture and charm, retaining her splendid mental faculties, until her last illness.
Mrs. Gadsden Lewis, of Miami, a niece of the deceased, was present at the funeral. Other surviving relatives are: Mrs. Duval, a sister, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Mrs. Guy Curley, a niece, Santa Fe; Mrs. Hugh Duval, niece, Miami.
The profusion of floral offerings and the large number of mourning friends at the funeral were evidence of the high esteem in which Mrs. Bradford was held.
