Mary Josephine "Josey" (Clotfelter) Conklin died March 18, 1922 at the age of 67 years and 13 days.
She was born March 5, 1855 in Mason County, Illinois.
She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Conklin on March 5 or March 6, 1877. To this union was born four children, two daughters, Justie V. and Daisie/Daisy G. Conklin, and two sons, Homer Carridan Thomas Conklin and Leslie Ray "Skim" Conklin, the daughters preceding her in death.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and two sons, Homer C. Conklin of Thorpe, Wisconsin and Leslie R. Conklin of Kilbourne, Illinois, one brother, Marqus D. Clotfelter of Anrip, Arkansas, one sister, Mrs. M. J. Cottell of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, six grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived in the neighborhood of Kilbourne, Illinois all her life except seven years she lived at Thorpe, Wisconsin.
Two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
She was a patient sufferer, a devoted wife and a loving mother. She always made friends wherever she went, being the same wherever you met her. She was always cheerful and had a smile wherever you met her. She was a ray of sunshine in her community.
Funeral services were held at Kilbourne Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. J. M. Branson, of Greenview, Illinois, with interment in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
Her death certificate indicated she died of diabetes.
