Born August 24, 1960 in San Jose, California passed away September 7, 2005 in San Francisco. Beloved son of Richard and Rhoda Kettmann, Michael touched the lives and hearts of so many people and will be deeply missed by a wide circle of loving friends and family. Four devoted siblings survive Michael: three sisters, Kathleen, Cynthia, and Melissa Kettmann Cook (husband Michael) and one brother, Richard (wife Katie). He cherished his niece and nephews, and will be sadly missed by Ashley, Michael, Jr., Matthew, Daniel and Samuel Cook and Christopher Kennedy (wife Jennifer). Michael was preceded in death by his partner, John Fernald. Raised in Sacramento, Michael graduated from St. Mary's School, Christian Brothers High School, and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Santa Clara University. A courageous and compassionate man, Michael dedicated his life to serving others and was committed to working with troubled teens, counseling unwed mothers and runaway teens. Michael's smile lit up the room and his laughter was contagious. A loving person, his sense of humor, love of music and passion for dancing will be fondly remembered. We loved him dearly and cannot imagine life without him.
