Pfc. William W. Collins, 21, died from wounds received in Italy while fighting with the 5th Army. Pfc Collins was reported wounded for the second tie in Italy last week and a telegram received yesterday by his mother, confirmed his death of wounds received on May 5.
Pfc. Collins entered the service in February of 1943, and trained at Camp Lee, Va., and at Atlanta Ga., and was shipped overseas in June of 1943. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Pearl Collins, 1706 North Division St., and two brothers, Sgt. Oliver D. Collins, 25, home on leave from California, with his wife and daughter, and M 3-c James H. Collins, 23, in the Pacific, who is expected home soon.
