EXPIRED EARLY THIS MORNING

Mrs. John Durbin Died at Home Near Monroe; Ill for Six Weeks

Hannah Jane Durbin, age 78 years, prominent resident of the Monroe community, died at her home seven miles southeast of Decatur at 2 o'clock this morning following an illness of pneumonia and complication of diseases of six weeks duration. She was the widow of John Durbin who died eleven years ago.
Mrs. Durbin was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Head. She was born in Knox county, Ohio, March 1845. She came to Adams county with her parents when five years old and had made her home in this county since that time. Mrs. Durbin was the mother of thirteen children, twelve of whom survive. She was a faithful member of the Pleasant Valley Friends church near Monroe.
The following children survive: Daniel and George at home; Samuel of Pleasant Mills; John and Robert, of Condo, North Dakota; Joseph, of Minnesota; Mrs. Rhoda Mills, of Rock Lake, North Dakota; Mrs. Emma Hoy, of North Dakota; William, of Decatur; Mrs. Cora Reinhard, of Decatur; Mrs. Nancy Cook of Decatur; and Mrs. Clyde Wolf, of Near Monroe; Benjamin Franklin Durbin died in infancy. Mrs. Susanna Jordan, of Six Lakes, Michigan, is a sister of the Deceased.
Funeral arrangements will not be made until word is received from all the children, but it is likely that funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon from the Pleasant Valley Church, the Rev. Reichenbauch officiating. Burial will be made in the Spring Valley cemetery, east of Berne.
