Avery R. Hirschler, 79, Leavenworth, Kansas died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the Medicalodge of Leavenworth.
Ms. Hirschler was born March 19, 1927, to Joe and Marie (Todd) Lupton, in Basehor, Kansas.
She worked as a secretary at the VA Hospital and at Job Services. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Leavenworth where she was a member of the Jollies and American Baptist Women Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include a son, Bruce C. Hirschler (Mary Ann), Frankfort, Kentucky; two brothers, Virgil Lupton, Leavenworth, and William Abbott and Theresa; a sister, Karen Vogel (Herman), Lansing; and five nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Randall Terrill will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter-Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth. Visitation was Wednesday at the funeral chapel. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church or the Hospice of Leavenworth, both in care of the funeral home.
