Mr. Charles Richard Allen, 56, of Temple, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Decatur. He was born September 30, 1952 in Los Angeles County, California. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked in the construction industry as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Jerome Allen. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Donna Kay Humphries Allen of Temple; sons James Paul Harvell of Tallapoosa, Georgia, William Darrell Harvell of Temple, Georgia; mother Margie Bell Esell Burgess of Irvine, California; brothers Johnny Burgess, Billy Allen, Paul Allen, and Dennis Allen all of California; granddaughter Ava Camille Harvell; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Villa Rica Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Walker officiating. Interment will follow at the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
