Mr. Loyd L. Akin:

 

Mr. Loyd L. Akin, age 52, of Bowdon, Georgia passed away on Thursday morning, June

2, 1977 at his residence.

 

Mr. Akin was born in Carroll County, Georgia on December 26, 1924, the son of the late Emery and Precious Presnal Akin  He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class.  Mr. Akin was a veteran of World War II having served in the   U. S. Army. He was a member of the Bowdon Masonic Lodge No. 206 F & AM.

 

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Juanita Yates Akin; two sons, Allen Akin and Mike Akin, both of Bowdon, Georgia one daughter, Mrs. Peggy Spratlin, Bowdon; three grandchildren; step-mother, Mrs. Marcelle Deese, route one, Waco, Georgia; one nephew, Tony Akin, Delta, Alabama. 

 

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 4, at 3:00 p.m. from the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. James Howard Galloway and the Rev. Truman Skaggs officiating.

 

Music was furnished by the Church Choir under the direction of Jerry Searcy.

 

Interment was in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Edward Presnal, Radford Gillespie, Dumah Harrison, Neal Stewart, Griffis Freeman and Larry Grimmett. Bowdon Masonic Lodge No. 206, F & AM was in charge of Masonic Graveside Rites.
