James W. Fountain, Jr., 78 of Clayton Ave., Harrisburg, peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in the peace and love of his home.
He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late James W., Sr., and Judith (Barbee) Fountain, a graduate of the Old William Penn High School, where he excelled in Track and Field, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, retired from Mechanicsburg Ships Parts Control Center, was a Real Estate Agent, a member of the Realty Board, Vice-President of the Board of Harrisburg Community Economic Affairs, attended Camp Curtin Memorial-Mitchell United Methodist Church, an avid sports fan and in his leisure enjoyed shooting pool and playing poker.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, Kevin W. Fountain and his sister, Marjorie Fountain and he leaves to celebrate his life, Lauree B. Fountain, whom he was lovingly married to for 58 years and from this union their sons, James W. Fountain III of Edgewater, NJ, Michael J. Fountain of Harrisburg, Roger E. Fountain of Paris, France and Laurence E. Fountain of Atlanta, GA; also survived by William H. Jones, Anthony Q. Jones and Natasha Mosten; his sisters, Judith C. Hill, Georgia Mays and Jessie Fordham, all of Harrisburg; his nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
James' life will be celebrated Monday, March 14th at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Camp Curtin Memorial-Mitchell United Methodist Church, 2221 N. 6th St., with viewing 10 until 11 a.m. with burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetary.
Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.
