Mary Jane Thompson Duncan, 82, passed away early Monday morning. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Fain Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Crawford Officiating. Interment will follow at the Terral Cemetery in Terral, Oklahoma under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
Mary was born in Orr, Oklahoma to John William and Suzie Ellen (Locke) Thompson on February 18, 1930. She married Wilford Thurman Duncan on September 9, 1943 in Waurika, Oklahoma. Until this past February, Mary had been a nursery worker at Fain Presbyterian Church, a job she had held for 17 years. One of her passions was the Red River Romance Writers. Mary was one of the founding members and served as President for two years.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Wilford, her parents, a son, Liberty Duncan, a granddaughter Rachel Schroeder, great-granddaughters Ashley Webb and Hailee Duncan, a sister Dorothy Harrison, brothers William Odell, Dois, Manuel and Doyal Duncan.
She is survived by her daughters Dee Duncan, Susan Martin and husband David, and Kathy Schroeder and husband David, sons W.T. Duncan and wife Karen, Richard Duncan and wife Debbie. Also Grandchildren, Carrie Ann Mitchell, Joe Dwayne Duncan, Stephanie Dawn Reed and husband Randy, Lisa Webb and husband Richard, Shannon Hughes and husband Patrick, T.J. Mitchell and wife Tammy, Brett Martin and wife Becky, Jason Duncan and wife Lindsay, Richard Allen Duncan and Amanda and Kyle Schroeder. Great-grandchildren, Shane Webb, Aaron Duncan, Jessica Coggin, Scotty Skinner, Kayla Martin-Murphy, Victoria Paige Duncan, Brittney Martin, Andrew Reed, Zachary Reed, Amanda Benedict Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Kali Hughes, Devin Duncan, Tanner Mitchell, Trista Mitchell, Emalee Duncan, Makenna Duncan, Zoe Duncan, Tarrah Mitchell, Trinity Hughes and Sophia Hughes. Great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Skinner and Patrick Webb, and sisters Louella Pruett and Margie Killingsworth.
Other survivors include a veritable host of loving nieces, nephews and friends everlasting.
