Alfred KRAUSE born on the 27th June 1898 in Tarutino, Akkerman, Bessarabia, South Russia was the son of Ferdinand KRAUSE and Justine BIERWAG.

Alfred married Emma STEINWAND on the 25th of June 1925 at Kloestitz, Akkerman, Bessarabia, South Russia. This union was blessed with 3 children; Elsie, Oscar and Herbert.

The family, with two children, Elsie and Oscar, immigrated to Canada in the fall of 1930 staying with his brother Ferdinand until spring of 1931. They made their home in Hilda, Alberta. Their youngest son Herbert, was born in Medicine Hat.

They rented a farm for some years, including the homestead of his brother Emil's, which they purchased in 1954.

In 1958 Alfred and Emma moved to Medicine Hat, but Alfred continued to help his son Herb on the farm until he sold it to him in 1967. Alfred and Emma enjoyed their vegetable garden and flowers.
