Oldest child of Ernest Council Stephenson and Jackie Ann Nobles Stephenson. At age 35, she married the much older widower Bryant Holmes in 1865 in Barbour County, Alabama. He had seven children. They had one son Council Briant in 1867. Her husband died before 1870. She stayed in Alabama until traveling with her son and his family to Trinity County in 1893 where she lived until her death in 1900.
