William Doyle 1927 ~ 2013

William "Bill" Doyle, of Wilmington, formerly of Everett, passed peacefully on January 30, 2013 listening to his favorite Irish tune. He was 85 years of age.

Mother: Alice (nee McMurrer)
Brother: John
Sister: Eleanor
Wife: Eleanor (nee Cuoco)
Sons: William & Robert

Bill served in the US Navy during World War II.

His business career centered in the Boston area. He was also a Grand Knight and 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. Bill eventually became the proud owner of Church Street Hardware and Liquor. He was locally known as the Mayor of the Square with his legendary Doyle's Softball team.

In addition to his other activiites, Bill was an active Rotarian and past president of the Wilmington Rotary Club. For many years he also volunteered his time to the Wilmington Little league and St Thomas CCD program.

At the time of his death, Bill was grandfather to 2 grandchildren, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Alice and his brother John, all of Everett.

There was a gathering of family and friends in Wilmington on February 2, 2013, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church. Burial with Military Honors followed in Wildwood Cemetery.
