Eula Ynon Hopkins, daughter of Doc Andrew Hopkins and Melba Octavia (Whisenhunt) Hopkins, was born on October 1, 1923 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 6 days. Eula lived in the Stilwell area her entire life. She liked to go for drives through the Talihina Drive and going to the Casino. Eula was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved family get togethers. Eula was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She always had an incredible meal prepared for all who came to her table. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents: Doc and Octavia Hopkins, brothers: Tom Hopkins, D.A. Hopkins, sisters: Sadie Reynolds and Elge McDaniel, grandson: Jimmy Hopkins. Those remaining to keep her memory is her lifetime companion: Haskell Horn of Stilwell, sons: Emmett Hopkins and wife Arlene of Westville, OK, Roger C. Nolan of Stilwell, grandchildren: Nowana Y Nolan and husband Daymon of Tahlequah, OK, Netta Yvonne Farmer, Melvin Hopkins and wife Karalee, Vicki Vaughn and husband Turon, Sandy Curry and husband David, all of Westville, Charles Joseph Nolan and wife Allie of Florida, granddaughter: Rashawanna Jean Nolan of Joplin, MO, Ashley Dawn Rogers of Tahlequah, great grandchildren: Luke Hopkins, Jacob and Joshua Farmer of Westville, Lakayay and Kendrick Bentley, Terri Jo, Felicity and Skiton Eatmon of Tahlequah, brothers: Charlie Hopkins, of Little Rock, CA, Millard Hopkins of Stilwell, sisters: Lou Kimbrell of Wyoming, MI, Marie Vanmeter of Minneapolis, MN, many nieces and nephews and a multitude of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Leon Brashears officiating. Interment followed at Honey Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
