Shooting of Mrs. Sinn
Troy Free Press
Lincoln Co., Mo.
October 29, 1897

Lawrence Sinn, living about mid-way between New Hope and Auburn, shot his wife last Monday about noon-whether accidentally or intentionally will probably be determined at his preliminary examination. He was here Tuesday to consult attorney and was arrested Wednesday morning at Elsberry and placed under 5300 bond to appear for preliminary examination next Tuesday-the bullet struck his wife near the wrist, came out near the elbow, re-entered about and went into the shoulder, and in thought it have lodge under the collar-bone. The wound is not considered necessary dangerous. Mr. Sinn has been married three times, his present wife being the widow of the late Uncle Jimmy Gladney and quit wealthy. They were married about three years ago. There are many rumors afloat about the occurrence, but we suppose nothing reliable will be learned until the preliminary occurs.
