BELGRADE -- Larry Imus, 61 --
Larry Imus, 61, of Belgrade died Wednesday, Nov 19, 2008 at Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church near Belgrade.
The Rev. Brian Ketelsen will officiate. Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery near Belgrade
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Mr. Imus was born Dec 1, 1946 in Nance County to Clyde and Mabel (Kurth) Imus.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Judy; a son Jody of Lincoln; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Coe of Dorchester, Teri and Chris Tosspon of Irving, California, and Sena and Dave Adelman of Lincoln; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, David of Wolbach, Dwight and Nadine of Fullerton and Ron and Vicki of Casper Wyo; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and John Cox of Lincoln and Kathryn and Howard Brown of Sun Lake, Ariz.
Additional survivors include three granddaughters.
He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church. He grew up and attended country school at Districts 46 and 65 and graduated from Belgrade High School.
Following graduation, he worked for several years for Thomas Carnivals. He returned to Belgrade and began farming. He worked for a time at Sands Confinement and for many years for John Deere.
On Dec. 26,1975, he married Judy Ostrander at Peace Lutheran Church. In 2004 he retired and they continued to reside in Belgrade.
He was a memeber of Peace Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. He was a past member of the Belgrade Fire Department and Peace Cemetery association.
He enjoyed fishing, collecting toy tractors and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Verle.
