Otto E. Wieneke, Jr. passed away unexpectedly at 9:16 p.m. Monday, 15, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Alton, Ill. on January 10, 1949, the son of Otto E. and Ruby M. (Schmidt) Wieneke, Sr. He married Brenda J. Bilbruck on July 12, 1968, in Bethalto. She survives.

Otto Worked at Jefferson Smurfit as an electrician for 33 years. He also worked at Caraustar for 12 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the farm, but most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Ronald Wieneke of Godfrey, Patrick Wieneke of Medora, and Lisa (Travis) Jones of Moscow Mills, Mo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Teenie and Barb Wieneke of Fieldon; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bob Winchell of Fieldon; nine grandchildren Luke Wieneke, Monica and Anthony Vanzo, Patrick Wieneke Jr., Sidney Wieneke, Alex, Kylie, Bradley, and George Jones also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Rayola Burris; a daughter-in-law Sheri Hensley; a brother-in-law Bob Winchell.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015, with Father Tom Liebler officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
