Imogene Walters Love, 82, of Eastview Lane, Greeneville, died Monday morning at Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late B.T. and Mabel Bible Walters and was the widow of Clarence Elbert Love, who died Oct. 6, 2000.

Mrs. Love was a graduate of Greeneville High School and Tusculum College. She retired from St. James High School, where she taught for a number of years.

She was a member of First Christian Church, where she served as president of the Ruth Circle for 37 years.

Her family stated, "She enjoyed making and giving homemade bread and candy to her many friends at Christmas. Her favorite hobby was gardening."

Survivors include four sons: Mike Love and Chris Love, both of Greeneville, Pat Love of New York City, and Paul Love of Greeneville; two grandchildren: Adrienne Love of Kingsport and Christopher Love of Greeneville; a great-grandson: Gavin Love; a brother and sister-in-law: Chester and Betty Walters of Ashland, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law: Irma and William Garner of Marietta, Ga.; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Louise Love, Bruce and Thera Love, Anna Lee and "Timer" White, Bennie McDonald, Jane Walters, Tina Walters, and Alberta Love of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews; and a former daughter-in-law: Lois Love Hitchcock of Altamonte Springs, Fla.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: James Thomas Walters and William Dexter Walters.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning in the funeral home chapel. Scott Wakefield and Charles Reese will officiate.

Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery

Pallbearers will be Paul Love, Chris Love, Mike Love, Pat Love, David Walters, David White, Tommy Love, and Johnny Hutton.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Bond Between Us Class of First Christian Church, Dr. Sid Boyd, Craig Wild, and Rex Arrington

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Lois Ottinger, 2395 Warrensburg Road, Greeneville, TN 37743.
