August 12, 1943: Beldenville Reporter: Ed Bredahl Former Merchant Dies - Partner of Ira Tann in the Bredahl & Tann Department Store Here. Ed Bredahl, well known local man died of heart attack at about 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of his son, Welsey. Mr. Bredahl had been hoeing in his garden all forenoon until 12:30 when he ate his dinner. After his meal he had gone to the back yard to rest where he was sitting on a box with a hoe in hand when the end came. He was discovered lying on the ground by his daughter-in-law Mrs. Welsie Bredahl. He had been dead only a short time before he was found.
Roland Hoyer was called, and pronounced it a heart attack.
Mr. Bredahl was in partnership with Ira Tann in the Bredahl & Tann Department Store back when Beldenville was a booming town.
Bredahl and Tann had a well stocked store and practically everything could be gotten there from cream separators and car parts to a full line of groceries and meats. This store was a great assetto Beldenville. This store was destroyed by fire some years ago and since that time Mr. Bredahl had been making his home on the farm of his son.
Mr. Bredahl operated the Beldenville Pavilion for may years whose crowds and attendance is still remembered. When "Ab" Thompson jigged with his fiddle.
Mr. Bredahl will long be remembered in this community for his kindness. He was born in River Falls Township on what is now the George Brueger farm in the Forestville community. He married Annie Howe on Thanksgiving day, 1893.
The funeral will be held at the house at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon and 2 o'clock from the English Lutheran Church at Ellsworth. Burial will be made in the Beldenville cemetery beside his wife who preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, on son Welsey, one granddaughter Arlyn, and one brother at River Falls, and a host of friends.
