Funeral services for Henry P. Sager, 72, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Petering's Funeral Home chapel, with Reverend D. Wesley Doak, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Sager, a retired Muskogee Fire Chief, died Tuesday of a heart attack at his home, 2029 Court. He was born April 20. 1884, in Grove, Indian Territory, and came to Muskogee in 1905. He was appointed to the Fire Department in 1908 and was promoted to Captain in 1910. He advanced to Assistant Chief in 1916 and became chief In February, l931. He retired November 4, 1936, after having served 28 years and eight months. He was a member of First Methodist Church, Oriental Lodge, No. 430 AF&AM, Muskogee Chapter R.A.M., Muskogee Council No. 2, R.& S.M., Muskogee Commandry No. 2 Knight Templar, and a member of Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sue Henderson Sager, whom he married Apri1 16, 1913 in Fort Smith, Arkansas; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Bailey, of Porum and Mrs. Ralph L. Maxey of the home; one sister, Mrs. Warren James of San Antonio, Texas, and three grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be E. R. Pryor, R. A. Hatley, C. E. Hatley, Roy Guy, Hardin Fletcher, and K. L. Blackburn. Honorary pallbearers wi11 be O. S. Smith, Ray Lammers, G. M. Bright, L. B. Smytbe, R. E. Preston, S. M. Morgan, and Carl F. Graves. All are either active or retired members of Muskogee Fire Department.
