Don A. Alexander age 76, 1450 West S.R. 67 Portland passed away early Thursday morning at his residence. He was born December 26, 1938 in Morgan County, Indiana the son of Lora and Rebecca (Kirk) Alexander. He was married August 11, 1962 to Alice Davis who survives. He was a 1957 Plainfield High School graduate and 1961 Milligan College graduate where he played basketball and track. He was retired from the Jay School Corporation as a teacher and coach. He had coached at Eminence, Belle Union, Monrovia, Bryant and Jay County Schools. He was a huddle leader for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a member of West Walnut Street Church of Christ and Portland Golf Course.
Surviving are his wife Alice, One son Bryan Alexander (wife Terra) of Fishers, IN. , Two daughters Kristie Alexander of Johnson City, TN. And Mrs. Neil (Gina) Denton of Portland, one sister Karla Green of Muncie, Six grandchildren Maddie Alexander, Bridget Alexander, Hymne Deveaux, Alex Denton, Isabella Denton and Jackson Denton. He was preceded in death by a stillborn son Darrin and a brother Neil Alexander.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Gil Alicea presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 – 4:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Memorials can be made to West Walnut Street Church of Christ.
