Al Tennant Slater 1917-2004

Al Tennant Slater, age 86 passed awy March 12, 2004.

Born October 9, 1917 in Salt Lake City to Leo Veral and Ethel Callaway Slater.

Married Mary Virginia Lloyd on December 31, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah with marraige later solomnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. High Priest in the Crossland Branch.

World War II U.S. Army veteran sho served in the Rhineland campaign, European Theatre.

Retired from Kennecott Copper after 40 years service.

He loved to hunt, fish and travel but not as much as he loved his family.

Survived by sons Bruce (Mary) and Dale (Cindy), seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and brother Bill (Joy) Slater. Preceded in death by wife Mary on August 2, 1998 whom he loved dearly, daughter Linda Rae Slater Closterman and sister Juanita Slater Sherby. We will all miss him very much.

Viewing at Broomhead Mortuary, 12600 So. 2200 W. Riverton, Utah, Tuesday, March 16 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Viewing at Mt. Jordan 3rd Ward, Sandy, Utah from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 17. Interment Sandy Cemetery.
