Rosalen B. Lester Lucas, 70, of 1023 W. Main St., Vevay, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at the Swiss Villa Living Center in Vevay.
She was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Switzerland County, the daughter of Raymond Day Lester and Mallie B. Aldred. She had worked as the director of nursing at St. Francis Hospital in Miami Beach, Fla., for 10 years, and later served as director of nursing for Pleasantview Nursing Home in Greenfield. She was a member of the Switzerland Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Gregory White of Sunman; two daughters, Louann Morton of Madison and Karen Mediniall of Coral Gables, Fla.; one half brother, Junior Lester of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Edward Lucas, in September 1977; and one brother, Raymond Lester Jr.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with burial in the Vevay Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Switzerland Baptist Church. Cards will be available at the funeral home.
