Floyd Mosby Polivick and Olva B. Gupton, my grandparents, were married October 31, 1925. He died as a result of injuries in an automobile accident. Described as one of the most serious accidents that had ever happened in Carlisle county, he was driving a horse & buggy which was run into by an automobile. The driver was attempting to pass a wagon and hit my grandfather's buggy head on. The crash was so severe that the horse he was driving was killed.

Although his marker indicates that he died on March 28, his death record shows that the accident was on the 28th but he died the next morning on the 29th. His obituary and newpaper accounts bear out this information. His stone was placed by my Uncle Tommy, who as a young boy was present at his death, a number of years following his death.

He was survived by his three children: Fenton Louis Polivick, Floyd Thomas Polivick and Martha Rachel "Sue" Polivick Adams, my mother, all who have joined him in eternity.

His parents were Henry Louis and Rosa Lee Bone Polivick who preceded him in death.

He was also survived by three sisters: Elsie Mae Polivick, Rosa Ethel Polivick and Pauline Virginia Polivick. His twin brother Loyd Polivick was stillborn or died shortly after birth, and his youngest sister, Martha Rachel Polivick was stillborn. My mother shared her name.

He has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren several great-great-great-grandsons. We are saddened to have never known him.
