Annie frequently traveled by train from Calgary, Alberta to Massachusetts and New York to visit family members in the states.
She is fondly remembered as a wonderful grandmother who loved to spend time with her grandchildren when she visited, telling stories and reading to them, going for walks, and taking them to the beach.
Annie was the mother of six, grandmother of six, and great grandmother of 30 children.

The photo to the left of Annie with her four youngest children, William, Joseph, Mildred, and Harry, was taken in Baileboro, County Cavan, Ireland, c. late 1907. This was shortly after her two eldest daughters, Jane and Olivia, had left Ireland for New York, in Oct. 1907.
