Stated on tombstone: " I have gone home."

Rogers Ide fought in the War of 1812, and co-founded the Free Will Baptist Church in Spafford, NY. In 1831 he began preaching, and by 1836 was ordained. Shortly thereafter, he traveled to the southern part of Indiana, where he preached against the sins of slavery, even when slave owners had a reward on his head.

Rogers was married to Esther, then later to Ada.
