"Rev. D.G. Holmes, received license from the Boston Q.M. (Mass) in 1844. Three years later he was an ordained minister connected with the Fairport, N.Y. church. About 1848 he became pastor of the Walworth church, to which he ministered some ten years, after which he served the Fairport a like term. He was highly esteemed for his work's sake.
About 1868, he moved to Chicago, and from there he made yearly visits to certain churches in Missouri, and greatly aided them by his counsel. He continued to reside in Chicago."

The Illinois 1870 Fed. Census, shows their HH, with Daniel G.listed as a "preacher" and Huldah housekeeping.
