Son of William Cash and Sally (Blackwell) Cash.
Married Julia Lenore Forrest Rees on 09/Dec/1900; they had nine children (listed below).

Born June 13, 1868 in Sweetwater, TN; son of William Cash and Sally (Blackwell) Cash, Dan Cash was brought to Missouri at the age of three. His father worked for the railroad being built through the Ozarks in the 1870s and 1880s, at the spot on the railroad that was to become the city of Thayer. At this location, Dan grew into manhood.
Thayer was rather a wild, lawless town for several years. At the age of 18, Dan served as town marshal. He wasted little time in bringing law and order to the town.
Dan became a stone mason and practiced that trade for several years. He studied law and passed the bar examination in 1900; he practiced law until his death in 1919.
During World War I, Dan served as an attorney for one of the many government boards that functioned during the war. He served in several public offices.
At various time, he was a law partner with Judge Miley and Samuel Meeks. Dan made many friends during the World War, especially among the people of German ancestry. The friendship carried over to his sons long after the war passed into history.
In 1901, Dan married Julia Rees. The children born to this marriage are Noel L.; Lillian; Millard F.; Lawrence E.; Russell G.; Loerwood; Herman; Melvin; and Lester N.
Dan received an injury while he was serving in the army during the Spanish-American War (Co C, 2nd AR Inf) which caused his early death, at the age of 51 years.
He was buried May 15, 1919 in the Thayer Cemetery on a beautiful, sunny springtime day, with many friends paying their farewell respects to him -- who was a man among men.

Thank you for serving in the U.S. Army. All gave some, some gave all; our freedom doesn't come free.
