Sarah lived in Gross Midlum, Germany in the late 1860's. She came to the USA after the death of her husband in 1904 with her single daughter Cornelia "Nellie" Claassen. In the 1910 census she and Cornelia were living with her son, Eielt Johann Claassen and his children, his wife died in early 1910. They were living at Butler, Calhoun County, in 1910. Eielt was living in Pomeroy in 1920 census. Her two oldest daughters lived in Hughes County, SD from 1907 till their deaths. This is my great grandmother. I have been told that her name on her stone may be spelled Klaassen or one of the many variations of that name.
