Leonard Herschel Bearden, age 82 of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born on July 30, 1930 in Montgomery County, Tennessee to the late George Bearden and Lennie Davis Bearden. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Gail Bearden. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Charles "Skip" Armistead officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. and Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Herschel was a U.S. Marines Veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a retired grocery manager for Kroger. He was also a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons, David Lynn (Kathy) Bearden of Clarksville, TN and Tim Lee (Brenda) Bearden of Cincinnati, OH; and three grandchildren, Brooke Bearden of Clarksville, TN, Taylor Burich of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Christopher Bearden of Cincinnati, OH. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hilldale United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1751 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
