George W. Floyd III., passed away December 18, 2011. He was born November 1, 1925 to George W. Floyd II., and Bessie V. Knight Floyd.
Born in Maimi, Florida, George attended public school in Philadelphia, PA., and graduated from La Salle University. In 1944, he joined the US Army and served in World War II. George was employed by Thiokol Corporation at its corporate office in Bristol PA., as Director of Finance and Pensions for thirty years.
After retiring from Thiokol, he was a consultant for Cain Chemical in Houston, TX., and helped establish Arcadian Chemical and worked there four years.
His first wife and mother of his children, was Barbara Mackey Haines born August 12, 1925. She was the daughter of Lorna Isadore Mackey (daughter of Harry Arista Mackey Mayor of Philadelphia (1928-1932)and Ida Boner) and Charles Haines of Philadelphia. Barbara passed away on March 28, 1982.
George married Maureen Bingham on October 28 1985 in Nevada, and lived in Ogden, Utah.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Floyd Liberatore and Jacqueline Floyd and a son George William Floyd IV.
George was preceded in death by his parents, and son, John McCampbell Floyd.
George was interned December 22, 2011 at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
