Michael, age 64, passed away on July 15, 2014. He was born on August 26, 1949 to Louis and Isabell Gambotto in Detroit, MI.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother, Larry Louis Gambotto. He married Lucy Sacre on August 23, 1980. They have 3 children.

Michael graduated Dearborn High School in 1967, then served in the US Navy. He became a Detroit police officer and received numerous awards, including Police Office of the Year in 1973. He fully retired in 1996. After a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in the mid-80's, he took a position at Michigan State University as a Mobility Specialist. He was a HUGE Spartan fan.

A Memorial Service will be at 3:30 PM Friday, July 18, 2014 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing with Fr. Paul Erickson officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW #701. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 - 3:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Donations in Michael's memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Michigan Chapter, through the funeral home. The family is being served by Tiffany Funeral Home.
