Harriet (Beckwith) Watkins moved from Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, USA around 1875 to Brampton, Peel County, Ontario, Canada (1881 census) and then to Windsor, Essex County, Ontario, Canada (1891 census) and lived in Windsor, Sandwich Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada until her death on November 15, 1893. Buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, USA without her husband Charles William Watkins, but in the same lot with her father George Beckwith.

Charles William Watkins' obituary in "The Observer" in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina, USA on December 19, 1879, page 1, column 1 states:

DIED.- Died at the hospital of St. John's Guild, on Thursday, December 18, 1879, Charles W. Watkins, in the 64th year of his age. His funeral will take place from the Church of the Good Shepherd this (Friday) afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.
Mr. Watkins came to Raleigh from the North some four or five years ago, and by his consistent and upright life gained the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. He was faithfully cared for at the hospital, and passed away peacefully, with the blessed hope of a glorious immortality.
