Ferdinanda was the 7th child born to Gustav and Pauline (Jakubowski) Jobs. She was born in Sadler, Poland. She immigrated to the USA through Ellis Island with her family at the age of 11 on June 1, 1906. She continued to live in New York City until moving to Egg Harbor City. She worked as a governess for a Doctor in New York when she met the Fred Doernbach at a family gathering in Egg Harbor City. Fred wanted to marry her, but she would not until he became 21 years of age. So a two year courtship ensued. Fred rode on a motorcycle up Route 9 when it was just a dirt road to see Ferdinanda. On April 28, 1916 Fred turned 21. On May 28, 1916 they were married at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New York City. Months later they came back to Egg Harbor City to make it their home. Ferdinanda gave life to five children. Three boys; Frederick Jr., Walter and Daniel. Two girls; Dorothy and Susanna. She was a great homemaker. Cooking some of the best meals anyone has ever wanted and making clothes for herself and her children.
