Phoebe was the daughter of Henry and Rebecca (Vanmeter) Shirk and was this contributors great great grandmother. The photo of her appearing at the right is from a family photo album. On January 19, 1854 she married Alfred Kimble, the son of John Adam and Hannah Rebecca (Cunningham) Kimble, and they became the parents of ten children; Hannah R. Kimble; Gabriel A. (R.?) Kimble; Hada J. Kimble; Anjimina K. Kimble; Virginia Alice Kimble; India B. Kimble; Sally Susan Kimble; William Wesley Kimble; Jacob Lincoln (Logan?) Kimble [my great grandfather]; and Noah Kimble. The family records that I have access to do not show Phoebes place of death but unless other information surfaces to the contrary I believe that it's safe to assume that she died in the area where she spent her entire life, the Pendleton County area of West Virginia, specifically in the area of Smoke Hole. She died at 83 years, 4 months, and 21 days of age.
