Funeral services were held in Post Oak Baptist Church, Sunday, 2 P.M., for Leon Ross Riddle, who died suddenly of a heart attack Friday while visiting in the home of Mar. & Mrs. Jep Fry.
Officiating ministers were Rev. Bill Davis and Rev. Bob Franks. Arrangements were with Hawkins Funeral Home and burial was in Silver Hill Cemetery.
Leon Riddle was born July 20,1916 in Jack County, the son if Frank H. & Annie K. Burch Riddle. He was married to Minnie Phillips Nov. 28,1941 at Bridgeport. He served with the US Army in the European Theatre during World War II.
A corporal in the 52nd Field Artillery, he was wounded in France Nov. 1, 1944. He held the Eame Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal and
Distinguished Unit Badge.
Surviving are the Widow, Mrs Minnie Riddle of Post Oak,a daughter, Rita Riddle of Post Oak, two sons, Jimmy RIddle of the US navy, stationed at Bremerton, Wash., and Ross Riddle of the US Army,Fort Carson, Colo.; his parents, Mr. & Mrs Frank Riddle of Post Oak; fice sisters, Mrs Faye Sloan of Jermyn, Mrs Bessie Mae Potter & Mrs Bernice Rumage of Jacksboro,Mrs. Eva Lou Whitehead, wichita Falls, Mrs Lillian GOssett of Newport, and a broter, Troy Riddle of Jacksboro.
