After basic training, PFC Foster was transferred to Alaska, to join his unit the 4th of the 25th Airborne, 1st of the 501st combat team.

He was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in February.

Many of his high school friends and family gathered on Monday, December 29th at Sanger High School to celebrate his life.
