IVA L. ROBERTS, 89, died at 8:05 p.m. Oct. 31, 2003, at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born Dec. 23, 1913, in Putnam County to Jess and Lulu Lentz Vandemark, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 27, 1936, in Kentucky, she married Owen Roberts, who died Dec. 18, 1964.
Mrs. Roberts worked as a registered nurse for Lima Memorial Hospital. She was a Lima Memorial Hospital alumni. She was former director of the Allen County Family Planning Agency. She was an avid gardener and sports fans and followed the teams of her children and grandchildren for more than 50 years.
Survivors include three sons, Ray (Mary) Roberts and James (Lora) Roberts, both of Greenfield, and Bruce (Barbara) Roberts of Lima; a daughter, Kay (John) Studer of Gomer; a sister, Della Davis of Gomer; eight grandchildren, Susan Studer-King and Kerry Roberts, both of Columbus, Joe Studer of Newark, Shannon Roberts of Lima, Bruce Roberts of Houston, Texas, Robin Lynch of Powell and Christine Fitzer and Tom Studer, both of Cincinnati; and five great-grandchildren, Ava Studer of Newark, Bruce Roberts III of Houston, Texas, and Matt Fitzer, Sarah Fitzer and Eryn Fitzer, all of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Odes Vandemark, Aurelius Vandemark, Clair (Elsie) Vandemark, Glen (Margaret) Vandemark and Androl (Kathern) Vandemark; and a sister, Dorothy Vandemark.
Family graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer. The Rev. Brian Knoderer will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
