Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Charles graduated top of the class from Wiarton District High School and went on to earn a B.Comm. from Trinity College, University of Toronto. He then earned his C.A. designation working with Arthur Andersen, and continued in Tax Accounting until his sudden and untimely death. The lights of his life were his Children, Crawford (who Charles joins in heaven), Alexandra and Callum. Predeceased by his father Paul. Missed by his surviving young children, loving wife, Meredith (married May 9, 1987); Mother, Frances; Brother, John (Sandie); Sisters and brothers-in law, Vivian (Ray Stone) and Mary Ann (Barney Keeshig), many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Charles was a huge sports fan, and had season tickets to see the Toronto Argonauts, and got to as many Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors games as he could, missing very few of them on the radio or television. Then there were his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. A real "homer", Charles always followed his teams with pleasure and great interest. One trip that always stood out to him was a road trip that he took with a friend from Milwaukee to visit the cities of all the members of what then were in baseball's American League East division. It was just before that trip that he asked me to marry him. Later, he enjoyed watching his own children playing soccer and participating in other sporting events. Even though he was not a sportsman himself, Charles did keep active.

My special thanks to Jenn (Jennerator) for her thoughtfulness and kindness in sponsoring this Memorial page for us. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
