Miss Lena Pearl HOCKING and Rolin FLUITT were united in marriage Sept. 21, 1916, in San Diego, calif. To this union was born four children, one of whom, Dale Virgil, preceded her in death January 16, 1921 at the age of two months.
Mrs. FLUITT's parents moved from Missouri to Nebraska when she was quite young and she spent her girlhood in these two states. In 1915, she moved to San Diego, Calif., where she worked as a skilled dress maker.
There she met R. V. FLUITT and they were united in marriage in 1919, they came to Shattuck, then moved to Booker a few weeks later where they made their home until her death.
Mrs. FLUITT possessed the kind of spirit that is characteristic of the pioneers. There were times when the going was rough, but through good times and bad, she always possessed an optimistic attitude. She lived a Christian life from girlhood and united with the Booker Methodist church on May 6, 1934, and remained a faithful worker until her death.
