John Wayne "Little John"/"Wimpy" Cass, 62, of Fountaintown, died Friday, June 10, 2005, at Hancock Memorial Hospital, in Greenfield.

Born May 29, 1943, in Shelbyville, he was the son of the late William Cecil and Gladys Pauline (Gahimer) Cass. He married Rosa Lynn Martin on Oct. 1, 1989, and she survives.

Other survivors include three sons, John Cass Jr. of Gwynneville, David Cass of Evansville and Brian Cass of Greenfield; one stepson, Bill Clay of Indianapolis; three daughters, Theresa Cass of Waldron, Angela Cass of Shelbyville and Helen Collins of Morristown; three stepdaughters, Patience Swain of Norton, Ohio, Sheri Beal of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Teri Stephen of Rushville; two brothers, William C. (wife, Wanda) Cass Jr. of Indianapolis and Leonard George (wife, Robin) Cass of Fountaintown; 35 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Eugene Gahimer.

Mr. Cass was a lifelong resident of Shelby County.

He was employed by International Harvester for 30 years, retiring in 1991.

He attended Fountaintown Elementary School and Morristown High School and graduated from Waldron High School.

He was a member of National Rifle Association; Eleven Meter Safety Patrol; and Goldwing Road Riders Association, Chapter 5.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 232 W. Broadway St.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Fountaintown Cemetery.
