Actor. Born Mikhail Mazurski in Galicia, Austria, he was a 6'5" former professional wrestler who appeared in over 100 movies. As one of cinema's first thugs, he specialized in playing strong arm men, gangsters, bullies and a big goofy guy. He first appeared onscreen in un-credited roles in films such as "Gentleman Jim" (1942) and "About Face" (1942), before becoming a regular onscreen presence throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Some of his best film credits include "Criminal Lawyer" (1951), "Blood Alley" (1955), "Some Like it Hot" (1959), "Donovan's Reef" (1963), "Cheyenne Autumn" (1964) and "The Adventures of Bullwhip griffin" (1967). For television, he was a regular on shows such as "Have Gun Will Travel", "The Untouchables", "It's About Time", "Bonanza", "The Chicago Teddy Bears" and many more. He died in Glendale, California, at age 82. In 2005, he was posthumously awarded the New York State Award by the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum for founding the club. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
