Bruce had a lot of talent in the area of residential construction, and was very creative. He could and did, do concrete, brick work, plumbing, electrical, the actual building of the structure, windows, doors, etc. He loved the outdoors, and the solitude of the woods up north. He would have been happy living in the old West, and was a country person at heart. He was a character, he had an artistic, creative temperament, under a somewhat calm exterior. He could tell a story well, and would help strangers with a flat tire. He was extremely protective of his family and his property. He helped his widowed mother out willingly, and took that responsibility seriously. He was logical and ahead of his time in some ways. He was Catholic. The Funeral Mass was on May 23, 1990 at Christ the King Church, and was conducted by The Rev. Phillip Witowski. Sadly, he and his long time wife, Olga were hit by a habitual drunk driver. Olga died instantly, and he eventually recovered partially, remarried, & was married to that wife, at the time of his death. He was married briefly to his first wife when he was younger, there were no children. He then met and married Olga. He and Olga were married for almost 26 years when she passed away. He was 21 when he and Olga married. She was definitely the love of his life. He missed her deeply after she passed away.
Bruce and Olga eloped in July of 1952. They had one child together, a daughter. By the time of his death, she was married and had school aged children. He enjoyed being a grandfather, & was proud of his grandsons and his family. He was healthy and in good shape, and he loved food. He was a cigarette smoker, but actually passed away suddenly, for an unrelated reason.
----Note: I appreciate the gravesite photo posted by a f-a-gr volunteer. Unfortunately I live too far away to visit and tend the grave properly. I would assume that his widow must be unable to do it... Keeping a loved one's grave tended properly was important to him, and he made that clear while he was alive.
