Norma Edith was the third daughter born to Gus and Mary Egge. The family was living in Satsop, near Elma in what was then Chehelis County (Now Grays Harbor). When she was about 7 years old the family moved to the Greenlake area of Seattle, and eventually a small home on Corliss Ave. In the mid 1920's her father's nephew, Odd Christianson, came to live with them, having immigrated at age 24 from Norway, A few years later, at the age of 19, Norma and her cousin Odd, 12 years her senior, eloped to San Francisco and married on July 11, 1929. They are found there in the 1930 census living on Powell Street. Their first daughter Norma Marie was born there two weeks before that census, but is not enumerated. Two and half years later their 2nd daughter, Solveig Johanne, was born In Seattle.

Later in life the couple would move to Edmonds. Odd died in 1961. Norma lived another 20 years. Norma was survived by her daughter Solvig Peterson and her husband Donald, five grandchildren, Alison Spivey, Reena Anderson, Donald Peterson, Cheryl Gertsch and Chris Stecher; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Bennett, Ella Ritchie, two brothers, Robert and Richard Egge.
