She was first married to Carl Peal, and later in April of 1929, married Ernest Kenley, who preceded her in death in 1967.
Mrs. Kenley also was preceded in death by two sons, David Peal and James Peal, six brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
She lived at Steele until 1941 when she made her home in Butler County until May of 1990 when she moved to Sullivan.
A member of Ogelville General Baptist Church at Qulin, Mo., she was baptized into the Baptist faith as a child.
In her younger years, she helped on the family farm and for a time, worked for the shoe industry.
Mrs. Kenley leaves two sons: Carl Peal of Des Arc, Mo. and Melvin Kenley of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Five daughters: Berniece Peal Montooth of Peoria, Ill., Robbie Peal Johnson of Tavares, Fla., Dorothy Peal Linenberg of Spencer, Ind., and Emma Kenley Oldham and Joyce Kenley Wilkerson, both of Sullivan; Twenty-six grandchildren; Thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and Seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kenley were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 1992 from the Eaton Funeral home in Sullivan with Pastor Curtis Hendrix officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
