Served in the 1st Regiment South Carolina Reserves Company E CSA. Applied for pension for service in 1st Reserves Company E on March 28, 1919.

The two Photos on the right are from the collection of Marie Gulledge Wiggins. Submitted by Jo Church Dickerson, December 2013.

The first photo is the Drury "Drew" Lisenby & Sarah Ann Rivers Lisenby family, sitting for a photo on the side of the "Drew House" on Hwy 9 near Hopewell Church. Drew and wife Sarah Ann are sitting on front right, Sarah Ann is holding one of the youngest grandchildren. Sitting beside them are her sister Margaret Rivers Lisenby, and his sister, Laney Lisenby. Standing in the left rear are Sarah Bessie "Bess" Lisenby and her husband, Johnny Rochelle Brantley. In the row beside them are several of the brothers who I cannot identify, except to note that one of the taller ones was Leander. I also remember Aunt Theat and Aunt Della, but cannot identify them in this youthful photo.

It must have been a celebration, for three people are holding large flower bouquets, and two are holding what appear to be a cake and a pie.

The photo was made probably sometime between 1905 and the 19-teens, for their granddaughter, Grace Ballard Gulledge (b. 1904), was either the baby on Sarah Ann's lap, or the older girl standing at her grandparents' shoulders, behind and between them. (She was pointed out to me many years ago, but I cannot remember which now, just that she was one or the other.) I thought Mom (Marie Gulledge Wiggins) wrote all the names down, but I've not been able to find them.

If anyone can positively identify any of the others in the photo it would be most appreciated.

The second photo is the Drury "Drew" Lisenby Home on Hwy 9 near Hopewell Baptist Church. It was later the home of Drew's son, Leander Lisenby. I remember birthday dinners for Uncle Leander (my great grandmother Eliza Jane Lisenby Ballard's brother) in the backyard with other brothers and sisters who were still living in the 1940s and 1950s.
