Paul M. Aitkens, Michigantown rt. 1, died unexpectedly at 9:30 a.m. April 25, 1987, at home.
He was a retired tool designer, and had lived in Lafayette, Delphi, Chicago, and Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 54, Airstream Club, Wally Byam Caravan and Cabot Campers Club.
He had worked for Delphi Body Works, Bell Machine, P.R. Mallory Corp., Stellite_Cabot Corp., and the U.S. nuclear plant at Oak Ridge as nuclear reactor designer from 1974-1977.
He was born August 17, 1912, in Clinton County to Lawrence J. and Ethel F. Dame Aitkens. He married Emmagene Huffer on July 20, 1963, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gavin Paul of Dahran, Saudi Arabia; a step-son, Bill Harsbarger of Michigantown; three step-daughters, Judy Crum of Michigantown, Beverly Harmon of Kokomo and Jan Wolfe of Rossville; a brother, Maurice of Frankfort rt. 7; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Pavey officiating.
Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery.
