Paul Crawford age 59, passed on August 11, 2011 at his home in Finley after a 2 year battle with cancer. Paul was born in Leavenworth, WA to Ray and Winifred Crawford.
The family moved to Kennewick in 1960. Paul attended Eastgate Elementary and Park Junior High then graduated from Kennewick High in 1971, which was the last single class to graduate before the school expansion. He made many life-long friends all through school.
Paul served in the army from 1972-1974, stationed in Germany.
After the army Paul stated work at Welch's Grape Juice Co., where he remained for 30 years until he retired in 2003. He worked there when the employees considered each other as family, and remained in contact with that family over the years. After retiring Paul's hobby was regularly attending the local towing yard auctions.
Paul and his two children, Crystal and Chad, turned the bare land he purchased in Finley into a loving home. They raised lots of critters and participated in 4-H, taking ribbons at the fair. Paul loved his kids more than anything and was a great father. He often talked of how proud he was of them and the adults they have become.
Paul also enjoyed competing in the demolition derby, which was a family event with his son Chad, winning fastest car trophy twice and his daughter Crystal and son-in-law Kevin winning multiple first place finishes.
Paul was an active member of A.A. since May 16, 1994, this was the first day of sobriety that continued throughout his blessed life. With this he has also gained friends that he cared deeply for. He would also like to give special thanks to Glen D. and his wife Suzette of Kennewick: words aren't enough. Love ya both!
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Winifred Crawford and his sister Joann Fogg. He is survived by daughter Crystal Albertin and her husband Kevin, of Kennewick; son Chad Crawford and his wife Amy and their daughter Akiera, of Richland; brother Patrick Crawford and his wife Terri of Santa Maria, CA; brother-in-law Dennis Fogg of Pasco; nephew Mike Fogg and his wife Mary, their children Alicia and Alex of Pasco; nephew Randy Fogg and his wife Jeanette, their children Brandy and Darrian of Junction City, KS.
The family would like to give a special Thank You to the staff at Hospice for the wonderful care they have given our dad. His quality of life would not have been the same if it wasn't for this organization. As well as all his friends that have given us support in this saddened time.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to Tri-City Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W. Entiat in Kennewick, in the name of Paul L. Crawford.
